WHEN TO SEE A SPECIALIST
When Should You See an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist?
Schedule your first prenatal appointment within eight weeks of your last period to ensure a healthy start for you and your baby. For ongoing care, women are generally advised to see a gynaecologist annually from around age 15, with full check-ups from 21 onward. Regular screenings, including cervical tests, support long-term reproductive health.
You should also consider booking an appointment sooner if you experience any of the following:
